WIB Outreach Coordinator named Regional Man of Distinction

Joplin Regional Business Journal coverThe Joplin Regional Business Journal named its 4th class of Regional Men of Distinction. The WIB is pleased to announce that WIB Outreach Coordinator, Thomas “Bubba” Evansco, is among the honorees. While different roads have taken these men to this very place in time and history, these community leaders have much in common, as noted in the November 7th issue of the journal. Their desire to make a difference is commendable as they serve and give of themselves while juggling the demands of work, community, and home. Nominated by their peers and chosen by a panel of judges, Regional Men of Distinction boast resumes that are filled with awards, community service, service to our country and more.

In addition to his role with the WIB, Bubba also co-hosts a morning radio show on New Life Radio 105.3. Before joining the WIB, Bubba worked for the VOICES Youth Program and conducted outreach for the youth workforce development efforts throughout the seven-county region. Outside of his service in the Navy, Bubba is a lifelong resident of the Joplin area. As Outreach Coordinator, Bubba helps direct the WIB’s promotional effort to recruit participants and employers to various workforce development solutions. Bubba also coordinates news media appearances and coverage for the WIB, along with assisting in high-profile events, such as Job Fest and regional workforce summits.

“This group of men are outstanding examples in our community,” said Larry Warren, JRBJ owner and publisher. “We are proud to include them in our distinguished list of past honorees. They exemplify the meaning of Men of Distinction and their impact has been felt around the region. Because of their contribution, this region is a better place.”

These men are chosen by a panel of judges who score individuals based on information provided to the JRBJ. Each judge must score each applicant and the scores are tallied and averaged to determine the top 15 candidates. JRBJ will recognize this year’s honorees during a dinner event Nov. 10 at Missouri Southern State University’s Connor Ballroom.
